The FORSVAR is designed with planet conscious waterproofing in mind, delivering exceptional 15k/15k waterproofing and breathability. The ecoSHIELD® fabric is made from 100% recycled polyester with a recycled Polyester membrane & PFC-free DWR for added protection from the weather.

Packed with technical features including a fully adjustable hood, venting pit zips, internal taped seams and plenty of pockets for storage, this is a waterproof jacket to take you BEYOND BOUNDARIES.

ecoSHIELD® Technology

The outer fabric is 100% Recycled Polyester made from post-consumer waste, i.e. plastic bottles.
The membrane is 100% Recycled Polyester ecoSHIELD®. This recycled Polyester membrane is comprised of 85% Polyester film waste + 15% recycled bottles. It's also GRS & BlueSign certified.
The waste from membrane production would usually be discarded, but this waste is cut into fragments, processed into small granules and then combined with recycled bottles into a new high-performance waterproof and breathable membrane.
It's also possible to recycle ecoSHIELD® membrane at the end of the garment's life, meaning that your garment can avoid being added to the ever-increasing percentage of textiles going into landfill each year.
The backing is 100% Polyester 20D jersey, helping to keep the fabric lightweight and flexible and also making it possible for the fabric to be recycled at the end of the garment's life.
The DWR is PFC Free C0 and also has a Plasma finish (Super DWR) which helps to lengthen the working life of the DWR between reapplications.

Nice jacket poor quality

I bought this jacket a year ago, nice fit and works well however I have only worn it for 4 of the last 12 months and the zip has broken. For the price I would expect it to last a lot longer.

Waterproof with softshell feel

Really comfortable feel to this jacket. i purchased it for my son as a hiking waterproof, but now he wears iteveryday, no matter what the weather. Despite being black and sift to touch, it remains clean looking and dust free which is a bonus. Plus the DWR is the best I have come across. Great Jacket!

Great heavy weather cycling jacket and all rounder.

Received my jacket yesterday and put it immediately to use in mixed weather for a short walk with the dog. I stayed dry and was surprised at how windproof it is too. I bought this as a replacement to my 5 year old Orkan that has lasted well and retained good performance but now has repairs on top of repairs. I feel like the Forsvar, fit wise at least is a carbon copy of the Orkan. I’ve used my Orkan as a heavy weather cycling jacket, as the hood goes over a helmet and the sleeves (they are slightly long) work well in a cycling position and I will use the Forsvar for the same primary purpose. The Forsvar fits the same, hood works the same over my bike helmet, only the fabric is different, being a bit crunchier than the fabric of he Orkan. I can’t speak to the eco credentials of the fabric, I bought it because it seemed a better deal than the Orkan at the time, and I’m very happy with the jacket and it’s performance, especially given the price paid (half price at point of purchase). Would I have bought at full price? No. I’d have bought a lesser quality jacket for the same money, but this is (IMO) excellent quality at the price point I paid.

Not Waterproof

Well fitting jacket, although the arms are slightly long and the pockets slightly small. Hood is adjustable and fits well.
Main problem is that in heavy rain the jackets soaks through in less than 10 minutes. I use it for dog walking in Scotland so I am out in all weathers. I am very disappointed in the lack of water resistance.
I have had the jacket since August 2022 so this is a long term review. The water resistance was a problem from when I got the jacket.
