Great little hiking tent

I think this tent is brilliant. One thing to mention is the middle apex pole should be on the top of the main pole.

In my video below it’s on the bottom and there’s been a few comments it should be on the top.

Thanks for the review and video showcase, Martin.

Easy mistake to make with the pole! For reference, our assembly video on the product page offers brief visual guidance on this. Cheers for your feedback and contribution to the community.

Great little tent

I'm 185cm, and can sit up fine.
It goes up quickly and easily. Feels pretty good inside too! Weight and quality really good I think. I'd recommend it.

I agree it would benefit from a little footprint. Fjern, can you recommend what size it should be? I need it faster than yours will come to market :)

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the review! Glad to hear you're liking the tent and would recommend it!

We recommend using a footprint that closely matches the base dimensions, perhaps slightly larger. The base measures 213cm x 145cm.

Kind regards,

A really great 1 man tent.

what can I say, the gokotta is a perfect lightweight, durable and really packable 1 man tent.

I'm 1.83 and to able to sit up in a tent is really important and there was more than enough space in the gokotta.

There's plenty of space in the vestibule for a large rucksack and space to boil water if the weather is bad.

Easy to pitch, waterproof in heavy rain and aerodynamic in heavy wind.

I would recommend making a footprint to. protect the bottom of the tent.

Thank you for your review, Martin. It's always rewarding to hear your feedback.

Great to hear that you're loving the tent! We have a footprint in the works that we hope should be available in the next few months.

Kind regards,
The Fjern Team

Gokotta 1p Tent Review

According to the specs, the inner height was 100cm, so I bought it thinking it wouldn't cause any inconvenience, but when I actually used it, it wasn't 100cm.
It may be as high as Hilleberg Acto, or it may be lower.
If you sit inside and straighten your back, your head will go through the ceiling.

When I got home and dried the tent, I measured the inner height again and it was about 92cm.
It was somehow uncomfortable.

It is a tent for sleeping only, and it is very inconvenient to cook inside the tent, and there is space to heat up and eat a cup of ramen.

- Advantages :

Light (1.1kg)
Takes up less installation space
There are no pole holes on the top of the outer skin, making installation easy.

- Disadvantages
The inner height is low, so it is possible to sit down, but the ceiling touches your head.
The inner length is 213cm, so putting a backpack on top of your head and putting various luggage would be uncomfortable for a tall person (it was fine for someone 170cm tall).

There is only one drawback that the inner height is low, but it is light and the packing volume is very small, so I think you can use it well if you go on a long-distance trekking like the Fjällräven Classic.

Overall, I am satisfied with this tent.

If you are used to low-height tents such as Hilleberg's Acto or Terranova's Sudden Cross 1p, this tent is a good enough tent.

Tested in the Lake District mountains

I used this tent on a wild camping trip in the Lake District. The tent is super lightweight and you’ll struggle to find anything this lightweight but with plenty of space. It is very easy to set up and can be done within a couple of minutes so even though it is inner pitch first, you’ll have the fly sheet on in no time at all. It’s well built and made from super lightweight materials. The porch is excellent also and can easily fit a large rucksack in it as well as being able to cook in there if it is raining. The tent feels solid and held out against the usual rain that the lakes can offer. The colour is fantastic and perfect for those who want to take off into the hills and blend in a little bit more to the environment. There was a small amount of condensation in the tent but that is to be expected at this time of year and something that I have always experienced. There is not a lot of information about this tent online but I can safely say that this is an unbelievable backpacking tent that will rival some of the best out there. Already looking forward to my next trip.

Hello MrToutdoors,

Thank you so much for your detailed review of our Gökotta tent! We are so pleased to hear that it performed well during your camping trip in the Lakes. We appreciate your insights on the durability, colour, and the practicality of the porch.

As the Gökotta is a newer addition to our lineup, your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, especially with limited reviews available online.

We also had a chance to watch your YouTube video and we enjoyed seeing the Gökotta in action in those unusually good Lake District conditions. We are looking forward to your future adventures with our tent!

Kind regards,
The Fjern Team
